blooms4good™ is a small but mighty squad of do-gooders, growing flowers in central virginia to raise money and awareness for local non-profits. kate and kira met in the summer of 2023 – kira had an established flower farm in barboursville, va and was looking for an outlet for her blooms while also wanting to do some good. meanwhile, kate had launched blooms4good the year prior – she was inspired by the potential her small gordonsville flower farm could have in the community and decided to leverage her garden to raise money for local non-profits. her first event was the fall of 2022.



the blooms4good team hit the ground running in 2023, popping up at local vineyards and breweries – selling flower arrangements in vases donated by friends and family, filled with flowers grown with so much love – some blooms were even donated by other local growers! kate and kira covered all expenses so that every dollar could go to charity.

during the 2023 and 2024 seasons we covered all the costs (soil, land, seeds, supplies). with big dreams to elevate this project and ensure that it is sustainable, grow our squad, and do even more good - this 2025 season we have moved forward in establishing blooms4good as a nonprofit corporation. we will continue to donate every flower penny raised to our local nonprofit partners (as well as our time, sweat and energy - that’s right, we do not pay ourselves) but have added an option to donate directly to blooms4good to help support our operating efforts.

Join us on Friday, May 9th, 2025, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM for a floral bouquet workshop using Merrie Mill's unique wine bottles as vases and Blooms4Good locally grown flowers for the perfect gift for Mother's Day. We are joining hands with Kate & Kira of Blooms4Good to use the proceeds from this workshop to support SARA (Sexual Assault Resource Agency) and International Neighbors in Charlottesville, VA. 

Light fare will be provided during this event. Our host staff will serve wine and other food upon ordering. One ticket for this event provides one floral bouquet of your design. We hope to see you all doing good for others while we celebrate our loved ones.

Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard is launching our music series with Bailey Hayes. All are welcome to attend our late-night Friday Sundowner’s Series. Let us welcome warm weather and an early Summer celebration!

Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard will close early to prepare for a private event. We will gladly see early reservations and walk-ins; however, we will ask guests to leave by 4:00 PM while we have our last reservations by 2:30 PM. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard’s 2nd Annual Outdoor Holiday Market hosts over 35 local artists, bakers, candy makers, and more! Live musical performance by Daniel Parker of Mojo Parker Express from 1:00-4:00 PM with an additional performance by Skyline Harmony Chorus from 11:30-12:15 PM. The holiday spirit is present and ready to inspire you to give and treat yourself! We will keep you warm and Merrie with hot apple cider, mulled wine, and reservable fire pits.
